India Review

Directions: Under each complete the phrase, answer the question, fill in the blank, or define the definition.

Describe the Geographic Challenges in the Indus Valley:
Unpredictable flooding, rivers sometimes changed course, and the cycle of wet and dry season was unpredictable.

Describe the first evidence of people in the Indus Valley:
The first people were either Africans who settled south or northern immigrants.

Describe the cities of the Indus Valley:
Over 1000 civilizations were discovered in very precise, planned out grids.

Describe Harrapan written language:
Was not bilingual, which made it impossible to decipher, and was only found on trading pots.

Describe Harrappan Culture:
The class system was pretty much non-existent, the houses were all basically the same size. They had toys for children, and animals were very important to their religion.

Describe Why the Harrapan Culture declined:
Drought and over used farm land.
