To strengthen Athenian Democracy, to hold and strengthen the empire, and to glorify Athens.

Describe the Art and architecture in Athens including the Parthenon:

Describe the invention of Drama in Greece:
As a civic duty wealthy bank rolled plays that were about leadership, justice, and duties to the gods. Two kinds of plays were written: tragedies and comedies.

Only records of the Dorian age were homer’s epics which are not accurate, and the greatest historian was Thucydides who believed that events and political situations reoccur over time.

Athens had a stronger navy and Sparta had a stronger army, so Pericles avoided land completely and decided to attack by sea. In the second year of the war the plague hit killing a third of the population including Pericles himself.
